The Journey to Love & Light Healing

I’ve always been drawn to the body. Its structure, its systems, its stories. I didn’t know why I was so fascinated, I just knew I felt a deep desire to learn as much as I could about it. Like sitting in the library in high school and college, captivated by any information about this meat suit. That quiet obsession led me to veterinary medicine, where I thrived. I graduated as a registered veterinary technician, top of my class, made the Dean’s List, and was named Student of the Year. I achieved this after attending seven other Cal State universities, city colleges and accredited vocational and training programs, where I focused my studies on the medical and pyschology fields. I was proud of where I was headed.

But, soon after graduation, I found myself wondering, “what’s next?" I didn’t understand these thoughts because I had just finished an extremely difficult and demanding 3 years getting into this field. Then, it happened. The moment that would literally change the course of my entire existence. While prepping a dog for surgery, I caught an opened cage door and tore my ACL and meniscus . What followed were four years of my own surgeries. I had 8, trying to get back to my career. Each surgery carried new hope and each one, when it failed, chipped away at my spirit a little more. Nothing held. My body wouldn't cooperate and eventually, neither would my spirit.

At the time, it felt like failure. I was trying so hard to get my old life back.

But now I understand: I wasn’t supposed to go back. I was being redirected to something bigger.

What unfolded next wasn’t just physical. It was emotional. Spiritual. Existential. The pain forced me to slow down, and in that stillness, everything I had buried began to surface. My trauma, patterns, memories, questions I had been too busy to ask. I was becoming more lost and hurt than ever.

And in the midst of that breakdown, or the existential crisis, as I like to call it, I found Reiki.

What began as a curious “why not” quickly became a complete shift in my path. Reiki didn’t just help me feel better, it helped me remember who I am. It reconnected me to the energy I had always carried but never had the language for. It awakened the healer in me.

I started to see clearly why none of those surgeries had worked. My body wasn’t failing me, it was protecting me. I was healing too quickly, forming scar tissue at a rapid rate because I was performing Reiki the moment I got out of surgery. I thought this was my ignorant mistake but it was actually a blessing disguised as pain and suffering. It was suffering because I am human and I was run by my emotions and need to control. I refused to step back and let the Universe do what it was always going to do. Take me in a new direction. I felt a loss and like a failure not going back to the veterinary field but those studies were always going to be the building blocks to my true calling.

I wasn’t meant to heal back into a life that no longer fit. I was meant to become something entirely different. Let my human ego side go and allow the Universe to work through me. All I had to do was show up.

Now, as a Reiki healer, I combine a lifetime of studying anatomy, years of psychology and intuitive work, and a soul-deep knowing that healing isn’t just about the body, it’s about the energy we carry within it.

It meets you exactly where you are and brings you where you need to go, whether you know where that is yet or not.

Love & Light Healing was born from this journey. Not out of perfection, but out of perseverance. Out of pain. Out of remembering who we really are and why we are here.

Because if I’ve learned anything, it’s this:
Hurt people, hurt people.
But healed people… heal the world.

And that’s what I’m here to do.
To hold space for healing.
To walk beside you.
To remind you that you’ve always had the power. Sometimes, you just need a little light to find your way back.
